Among the many features for the administrator, SR1 offers:
Improved role security
The administrator now has access to control what should happen to new elements that are added, which also means that the administrator will save time when data is added to the existing solution.
Support for impersonation
By supplying just the user name (and not the password) MS Analysis Services will behave as if the user was authenticated and any security set up in the database will be considered. In addition, this allows scheduled jobs to be executed.
64 bit TARGIT NET
This new feature actually allows you to have more users on the same server without overloading it and will make time spent in TARGIT NET more efficient.
Among the many features for the daily user, SR1 offers:
New features as well as improvements with Criteria - also in TARGIT NET.
SR1 has a new dialog-based editor for Criteria and Comparisons meaning fewer clicks to set up your criteria and comparisons. The editor offers you a clearer overview of your criteria and omparisons.
The editors offers integrated search, including Boolean operators (AND-/OR-/NOT-operators). You can store criteria and comparisons and i.e. add them to new analyses to save you the clicks of creating new criteria and comparisons. Also, when storing criteria or comparisons, the editor offers integrated translation of stored titles.
Range operators
This feature basically works like the classic criteria types in the criteria editor but will save you clicks. The feature allows you to select simple from-and-to values with the new "between..." and "not between..." criteria instead of having to add several criteria, such as "less than or equal to", "greater than or equal to" and so on, to determine your desired range elements.
Other improvements:
When scheduling an analysis, you can specify the resolution and aspect ratio of the output i.e. an image.
Support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and improved support for PROPHIX.
Also, content in sheduled e-mails have been improved and are much more descriptive.
