Labour unions traditionally work with huge amounts of data, and therefore it can be difficult to maintain an overview of it all. But not at 3F. Here the employees log in to the business intelligence solution, TARGIT BI Suite, where they can retrieve exactly the information they need to make informed decisions in very few clicks.
Business Intelligence has become a central tool in 3F’s effort to strengthen and secure the organization for the future. Experience shows that effective handling of data equals operational savings and a higher level of service for the members. 3F’s technical- and operation manager, Jens Bille, explains: “We possess lots of know-how within the company, and we need to use it to reveal and work on our weak points so that we can constantly improve at running a labour union.”
Knowledge for everyone
When 3F were to choose a BI tool, it was of outmost importance to them that the solution should be capable of providing the needed insight and knowledge to the organisation’s 2650 employees. The fact that the solution is built in a simple and user-friendly manner has therefore also been the decisive factor for 3F: “We are experiencing an increasing demand for delivering basic, statistical information in a well-arranged way. This task was previously in the hands of a few people in our IT-department, and as a result we experienced bottle-necks during busy periods. However, now all employees in our 80 departments can manage the solution from TARGIT with a minimum of education.”
3F uses Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for integration of data from the member-, task- and finance-systems. Data is gathered in a data warehouse that can be accessed by the users through TARGIT BI Suite. “The Microsoft platform with TARGIT on top provides us with flexible tools that we use, among other things, for creating an overview of the enquiries received from our member. In that way we know how to adjust our services so they match the needs of our members”, Jens Bille says.
Results are visible
3F is experiencing noticeable results from using TARGIT BI Suite. ”We have gained huge operational savings. In terms of administration, the solution also gives us a great advantage because now we can push data and statistics out to the users so they can find the information they need, when they need it on their own. This means faster case processing and an increased flexibility which is beneficial to both our members and employees”, Jens Bille concludes.
