The trading company F.T. Sukces was established in 1991 and is a member of the Polish AVANS AGD – RTV – Multimedia Group. Efficient management resulted in a buoyant development of the company. Today, F.T. Sukces deals in retail trade and wholesale of household appliances and RTV equipment, and offers a wide range of products by renowned producers such as Bosch, Electrolux, Whirlpool, Siemens, Sony, Philips and others. F.T. Sukces has a network of 25 retail shops, and for several years, the company has been and continues to be one of the five regional distributors for Avans network. The underlying motive for the network was the will to develop a modern trading structure that meets the growing requirements of Polish customers and a structure capable of competing with large stores. Today, Avans network holds a 20% market share in household appliances and RTV with over 600 shop franchise holders of Avans Polska located throughout Poland. F.T. Sukces is a provider for 100 shops of the network.
The analytical capacity of TARGIT BI Suite was one of the main factors resulting in F. T. Sukces’ decision to implement TARGIT BI Suite. The scope of implementation was defined on the grounds of a technical interview, which involved identification of customer needs for analysis and reporting on sales, warehouse management, and ERP system environment, as well as an option for developing a data warehouse. TARGIT BI Suite allowed F. T. Sukces to conduct interactive sales analysis and margins in various cross sections for retail and wholesale. Savings in result of efficient margin analysis in all available cross sections allow for quick return on investment in BI solutions. The implementation of TARGIT BI Suite allows for quick and multidimensional analysis of data on, among others, sales and stock, facilitating the right decision making of all company managers. F. T. Sukces acquired TARGIT BI Suite for 55 users with an option to extend the license to 100 users and MS SQL 2005 Server providing analytical data for designing data warehouses and multidimensional bricks.
TARGIT BI Suite transforms information into action
The financial success of a company managing a network of RTV/household appliances shops depends to a significant extent on whether specific goods are in the right place at the right time. Transfer of goods between shops of one network must be very quick. To accelerate the process, F. T. Sukces implemented TARGIT.
"Though we have not been using the system for very long, we already note the change resulting from awareness of where certain goods do not sell well. Products that are not popular in, for example, Gdańsk enjoy considerable popularity in Olsztyn. So why should they fill the shelves where nobody wishes to buy them if they can be moved to a place where they can find buyers?", explains Mariusz Kacprzycki from F. T. Sukces. The possibility of rational moving of goods between shops lowers the costs of storage. Furthermore, relevant reports facilitate identification of goods that generate least profit. This kind of information facilitates decision making to change the situation. The identification of products generating least profit was also possible in the past, but it was more time consuming. The option of providing employees with immediately ready reports updated every 10 seconds is extremely important. When an employee does not need to devote time to prepare the report manually he/she can focus on transposing the information to action. When report preparation lasts half an hour, it is quite likely that there will be no time for it. Automatic reporting makes life easier especially in the fourth quarter when the work load exceeds the personnel capacity", states Mariusz Kacprzycki.
"We can easily learn whether promotion expenditures translate into sales of given products. We also check daily sales results compared to market share" – notes Mariusz Kacprzycki. F. T. Sukces cooperates with Gfk, which conducts sector monitoring in several product groups. Merging this data with information generated by TARGIT BI Suite indicates rising or falling market share which is a key factor for establishing retail prices for products on sale. When the company profits show a rising trend, prices can be raised.
