World-class supply chain management
Argo Turboserve Corporation (ATC) has achieved rapid growth by helping companies reduce their investments in aftermarket spare parts. Not just the odd nut and bolt, but also the critical - and highly expensive - inventory that keeps planes in the air and nuclear power plants running safely 24-7. A demanding company with demanding customers, ATC needed a business intelligence tool that could collect data from its own, patented software, OptiLink, as well as its ERP system, Microsoft Business Solutions Axapta.
Good fit - and value for money
ATC chose TARGIT Business Intelligence Suite to help speed decision making, financial reporting and analyses of quality metrics. According to Art Johnston, CIO of ATC, "TARGIT was chosen because it met our requirements, interfaced directly with Axapta, and was much less expensive than Cognos, Crystal Reports and Business Objects."
Departments across the corporation have quickly made TARGIT their own. "Operations managers are able to track their sales and inventory over any time range they want. Finance has also set up profit and loss statements for division managers to review daily so they can check margins," continues Johnston. And the program's flexibility continues to show its strength. "Even though many charts and reports have already been developed, it continues to be expanded to meet all operational needs as well as financial and quality initiatives. We see it as an important decision making tool that fits well in our IT services strategy," concludes Art Johnston.
Argo International also chooses TARGIT
Impressed with the successful implementation at Argo Turboserve Corporation, their sister company, Argo International Corporation, decided to follow suit. The global stocking distributor rolled out TARGIT Business Intelligence Suite throughout their worldwide organization when it moved from one ERP system to another. The company wanted a common view of historical and new data - as well as the ability to continuously track sales, market opportunities and inventory levels.
"With TARGIT we have a crucial solution that fulfils all of our needs," says Franz Kistner, Director of information Technologies, Argo International Corporation. "To me, the deployment of TARGIT through the web client is a key feature of the product because we are an organization that has small offices throughout the world. On top of that, TARGIT has pre-designed cubes for Axapta, Excel integration and uses Microsoft Analysis Services as the data warehouse engine," says Kistner.
