Dantherm Air Handling operates in a market in strong growth. To keep pace with this growth, the company decided they needed a management tool that could present key figures such as turnover, contribution margin, inventory balance, debtor management, and cash flow to the management group in a clear and uncomplicated way. They contacted TARGIT A/S and another supplier of business intelligence products.
Handling changing needs
Mikael Andersen, controller at Dantherm, comments: ”After a short evaluation of the products, we realized that TARGIT Business Intelligence Suite did not only meet, but even exceeded our needs. It contains the newest technology, it is based on interactive graphics and is very user-friendly. At the same time, TARGIT is a dynamic product which provides us with the ability to make our own changes to reports and analyses and to create analyses of new data - according to our changing needs. This factor weighed heavily in our decision both because we could save resources on IT consultants, and because we no longer had to wait for them to come by.
TARGIT answers our questions
Today, TARGIT Business Intelligence Suite is used daily by the management group at Dantherm as a management tool for each member’s area of interest. “Among other things, the solution is used to answer questions such as: Which products are contributing most to our results and are most profitable? Is the future product portfolio “healthy” and profitable? And do our projects meet budget and deadlines?”
In addition, Dantherm is working towards creating a full-scale intra- and extranet where it plans to use analyses from TARGIT with regard to e-business and in the communication with suppliers. “By continuously registering the suppliers’ reliability of deliveries and using these analyses in our negotiations, we have a tool which keeps our suppliers on the ball”, Mikael Andersen explains.
Meetings are now more effective
Mikael Andersen states that since the implementation, the internal discussions have been much more efficient as the company now has a common basis of figures and analyses that all employees are referring to. “It is impossible to manipulate the numbers, and we no longer doubt which figure is being discussed.” Instead, Dantherm can now focus on finding explanations of and causes for the size of the relevant figures - and evaluating what can be improved in the future.
