Optimization of business processes
Gabriel A/S is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of furniture fabrics of pure new wool. Every year 1.4 million metres of furniture fabrics is produced, 75 percent of which is sold to the export markets. The complex network of suppliers, manufacturers and customers require an effective management of all data from sales, inventory and production, and in order to keep ahead in this niche of quality fabrics, Gabriel has to continuously improve business processes.
Gabriel was looking for a system that could ensure full transparency of all business processes and thereby provide an overview of and insight into all business areas. TARGIT Business Intelligence now fulfils these requirements. “TARGIT is exactly the system we needed”, says CEO at Gabriel, Jørgen Jacobsen.
All business areas use TARGIT
The TARGIT solution at Gabriel is based on a Microsoft SQL database which gathers data from a wide variety of data sources in the company. In the shared data warehouse, all company data become available and can be used for management purposes in every business function. Gabriel has implemented the system in all areas of the business.
Reliable overview of data
In the sales department, TARGIT is being used by 15 employees to manage sales and marketing. Sales analyses show whether individual sales people as well as the entire company have met sales objectives. “Guessing and discussing whether we are looking at the right data now belong to the past. The system simply describes facts”, says Logistics Manager Kenneth Mynster Dolmer.
Data reliability is also an important aspect for Production where TARGIT keeps track of produced quantities. “With the Business Intelligence System from TARGIT we can easily see whether we are producing enough to meet current orders”, Dolmer says.
As at all other companies that produce “just-in-time”, stock management must have a central focus at Gabriel, and management constantly needs to know which materials and quantities are in stock. “With TARGIT, we obtain a good overview of incoming orders, which means that we can adjust the purchase of raw materials accordingly. With the tools in TARGIT, we avoid over-stocking while making sure that we always have enough in stock. All data is gathered in one report with easy-to-understand graphical objects, and this provides an invaluable support for making the right decisions fast”, Kenneth Mynster Dolmer concludes.
