“TARGIT means quick, reliable and complete information”

The Dutch company MotracLinde sells more than 2500 new Linde forklift trucks a year and services more than 12.000 forklift trucks nationwide. With more than 200 employees and seven departments, information management has a high priority. The great amounts of data must be structured to provide the needed insight into the business.

Wanted reliable view of KPIs

Motrac’s first step towards getting more structured information was the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX. However, the Dynamics AX queries quickly became too huge and query performance too slow. Therefore, Motrac decided to look for an analysis solution that would allow them to obtain an easy and reliable view of the business KPIs. According to Michel Cijs, Coordinator Service Intelligence, the company defined three requirements: “Our analysis tool had to be fast, reliable and easy to modify using in-house resources.”

To comply with the high demands of its customers and business processes, a new department named Service Intelligence was born specifically to provide information and to indicate trends. The goal of the department has been to improve the competitive power of Motrac by providing employees as well as customers with decision making information, which is unique in the market. To meet this goal, TARGIT BI Suite was chosen. “It fully met our requirements, and on top of that, TARGIT has a great look and feel!”

Benefits both employees and customers

Today Motrac can analyze data from Microsoft Dynamics AX in TARGIT BI Suite, and recently, data from their ‘old’ system, AS400, were also added to the analysis cube allowing Motrac to compare figures and trends across the systems. “TARGIT helps us with our daily tasks and gives us perfect insight into the company’s decision-making information.”

TARGIT BI Suite is being used to provide important information throughout the entire MotracLinde organization. Service Intelligence is a heavy TARGIT user, and the marketing- and financial departments are also working with TARGIT. In the future, the company plans to have all managers use the solution for retrieving and analyzing important information, which means that everyone will become capable of making qualified decisions right at their desks. However, TARGIT BI Suite is not only used within the organization. It also provides a great benefit to Motrac’s customers: “Our customers can easily monitor their truck investments, and based on the information from TARGIT, we can for example advise our customers to repair or replace their forklift trucks,” Michel Cijs says.
