“With TARGIT, it has become easier to find the critical areas through drill-down features. Earlier it took hours to make data available. It has also given each department – Construction in particular - an excellent opportunity to measure the resource consumption,” explains Lars Gram Møller, Business Controller. When the department heads are called to account, it has become considerably easier for them to find the answers they are seeking. “Unlike XAL, TARGIT has given us the ability to study the subjects in depth and eliminate resource-consuming manual work,” says the Business Controller.
NRGi plans to provide all employees with access to TARGIT. Lars Gram Møller expects that the employees will be excited about TARGIT as soon as they experience how easy it is to work with - and how easy it is to get an overview of the business. He says: “They will experience that it has now become easier to work out and follow up on the actual results; the controlling functionality has improved resulting in faster error reporting.”
NRGi extracts data from several sources, including the ERP system MBS XAL and the MS Access database. TARGIT Business Intelligence is primarily used for management reporting. However, according to Lars Gram Møller, a key learning during the implementation phase has been that the increasing usage of TARGIT software uncovers new possibilities.
Access to information about market trends
NRGi decided they needed a Business Intelligence tool to strengthen the strategic management of the company. Prior to choosing TARGIT Business Intelligence Suite, three systems were evaluated. NRGi evaluated the systems based on criteria such as maximized user-friendliness, reporting capabilities, data warehouse concept, as well as the balance between getting a fast overview of the entire business and at the same time, being able to investigate critical issues in depth easily and quickly. TARGIT was found to best meet these criteria.
At NRGi, the everyday life is influenced by adjusting to the liberalisation of the electricity supply market through internal restructuring of the organisation structure and processes. The liberalisation requires NRGi has access to the right information here and now. With TARGIT, they are informed about market trends, which make it possible to rapidly change course, if needed.
