There are pros and cons for storing in either a relational or a multidimensional data store. The relational data store supports much larger data volumes as well as real-time analysis and reporting. This means that the user will have the option of drilling from an overview down to the last detail. On the other hand, the multidimensional data store will in most cases give better performance than the relational data store.
