TCP Upgrade SQL 2000 - 2005

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to ensure that TARGIT certified professionals (that were certified before Microsoft introduced SQL Server 2005) have their skills upgraded from the SQL Server 2000 environment to the new SQL Server 2005 environment – with the aim to ensure smooth implementation of TARGIT solutions on the new platform. Compared with SQL 2000, the new SQL 2005 introduces radical changes and improvements to Analysis Services and ETL. The main purpose of getting data from A to Z will be the same, but the way to implement it, is quite different.

• Recognize the differences between SQL 2000 and SQL 2005
• Manage the new tools in SQL 2005 including Analysis Services 2005 and Integration Services 2005
• Implement a TARGIT solution on an SQL 2005 platform

Participant Skills

The course is very compressed and focused on the technical aspects of SQL 2005 related to a TARGIT solution. Experience with Analysis Services 2000, Data Transformation Services 2000, and the TARGIT Suite is needed. Therefore, it is a requirement that participants have previously completed TARGIT Certified Professional for SQL 2000.
