Quality of order data improved with TARGIT

Ingemar Josefsson Prevesta TARGIT Business Intelligence Only after a short period of using TARGIT, Prevesta is experiencing noticeable results. “TARGIT gives us a much improved basis for efficient decision making. Due to the daily system updates, we are always receiving current information about the volume of orders – and the exact same information is available to all employees. We see great potential in TARGIT, and we know that the system is improving efficiency of our order statistics significantly," states CFO Ingemar Josefsson.

He also explains that TARGIT has improved the quality of data stored in the order system. “We are now discovering errors which we would not have discovered without TARGIT.”

Several different systems were evaluated but TARGIT was chosen because it is an open system that works with various types of databases. TARGIT BI Suite also met the company’s demand for user-friendly and in-depth analyses.

“We have selected a group of super users who are working with TARGIT. The super users support their department managers by creating analyses that enable the managers to make the right business decisions. In addition to these analyses, we will use TARGIT for creating a number of statistical reports that will be communicated to everyone in the organization through our intranet. In this way, the entire organization receives relevant statistics on sales, deliveries and incoming orders,” explains Ingemar Josefsson.

More data with more orders
Prevesta TARGIT Business Intelligence The increasing order volume at the Swedish manufacturer of wooden houses, Prevesta Group, imposes very high demands on the company’s order system. Previously, the process of creating order statistics was very time-consuming and difficult as statistics were created manually. To obtain the necessary overview of the company’s expected sales and deliveries, Prevesta realized that they needed an update of their exiting IT systems. 

Ingemar Josefsson elaborates: “We decided that the answer for us was a data warehouse solution combined with an analysis program that would allow us to analyze our volume of orders from various angles. We wanted a system where data become available in an open data structure. We also wanted the ability to analyze data in depth, across different time periods and from a wide variety of approaches.“

Today, all employees at Prevesta Group can create analyses and statistics with the TARGIT solution which organizes data from the administrative system, JD Edward, and other systems via a data warehouse based on MS SQL 2005.
