This data can be summarised in a view that shows, perhaps by vehicle type or territory, the utilisation or revenue generation of the vehicle or route. Looking at a comparative view of this data over a period of time, perhaps a few years, the business decision makers will be able to see what type of vehicle, or which geographical area is the most profitable. </p> <p>The ICT Director eloborates: "We already have accurate and detailed reports. We are looking at BI to enable us to drill into the individual elements that make up these reports. We want to understand what’s happening to generate these results and with this knowledge carry out the necessary activities that will deliver improvements. Similarly, the tools can automatically generate alerts that highlight key areas that need to be dealt with. To achieve this, we are implementing Jet Enterprise and TARGIT BI. Jet Enterprise will organize the data into cubes of information that the BI tools can analyse and use. Creating these cubes normally requires some pretty specialist programming skills, but Jet allows us to produce these very easily. TARGIT then provides an easy to use tool for analysing this data and giving us the all important information on trends and developments that we are looking for."</p> <p>By entering into the BI tool the planned purchase of new vehicles, development of new sites or increase/decrease in customers in a particular area, a predictive view of performance can be created. This information can influence many decisions in a business such as type of vehicle to purchase, the territories on which to focus the sales forces’ efforts, driver performance or where to create a new transfer station etc.</p> <p>"The BI market has changed recently. These solutions used to be fairly expensive and almost always proprietary. If I think back to the early 1990s—the challenge then was to give users easy and fast access to valid data. That challenge pretty much remains today. Sure, technology has improved in terms of processing power, storage, connectivity, and mobility, but overall the challenge stands. Moreover, the challenge does not stop at valid data, because, in my mind, an even bigger challenge is information quality—meaning that the information users get out of BI systems can be completely understood by them and that it is coherent across an organization. Information quality goes much further than data quality, as valid data can be misunderstood if a user does not understand its context and meaning and is not able to relate it to other data.</p> <p>Lack of information quality is, to my mind, still the biggest challenge for organizations seeking to harness the power of information and to turn that into competitive execution. The worst thing about lacking information quality is that it can stall the decision process when users need to find consensus about the “truth” before a decision and subsequent action can be taken.</p> <p>Having said this, we will of course see an increase in mobility as well as an increase in cloud-based delivery models, but these technological trends are not going to solve the fundamental information quality problem. He came in third in his age group. Thomas Mortensen, who is also coach for the other two and instructor at TARGIT's running academy, completed in 10 hours, and he came in fourth in his group. At first, it went extremely well for Gregers. After 3.8 km of swimming, 180 on bike and 30 km of running, he was in first place in his category with a solid margin to the runner-up. But with only 10 km of the race left, Gregers collapsed and his race ended in an ambulance. After treatment with drop against dehydration, Gregers was fine.</p> <p>"The combination of one of the world's toughest Ironman bike rides in the mountains and the baking heat is a harsh environment to push yourself to the max. Being a Dane, it's really difficult to train for these kinds of ordeals in our flat landscape and cold climate. Returning from Nice, Gregers is at least a valuable experience richer. Moreover, more than 500 of the 2700 competing triathletes didn't make it to the finishing line. The conditions were extreme to everyone", tells TARGIT's CEO Morten Sandlykke, who was competing in Nice himself. "According to my watch, it went up to 38 degrees Celsius, and it wasn't a joke completing an Ironman under these conditions. Therefore, we initiated a partnership with Nordic Venture Partners, and they provided us with capital and directorship competencies”.  </p> <p>The partnership was a great success. TARGIT managed to quadruple their revenue and has grown into an internationally renowned company with 300,000 named users of their software. </p> <p>”We have been able to finance our growth initiatives for a long time now. Therefore, it is only natural that we buy back the venture company’s shares. This way, we regain total control of TARGIT, and the venture company receives a well-deserved profit for their investment”, says Morten Sandlykke.</p> <p>The partnership with Nordic Venture Partners has not come to a complete stop. CEO and partner of NVP, Henrik Albertsen, has accepted the offer to continue as chairman of the board of TARGIT even though he is no longer a shareholder.  </p> <p>”I am proud of being part of the great success that TARGIT has experienced.
