TARGIT Business Intelligence & Analytics, known for its high degree of ease of use for data discovery and analysis, continues to be positioned as a “niche player” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics Platforms, published February 24, 2014.
Gartner composes the Magic Quadrant annually, and foresees a transformation of the mature and competitive market for BI and Analytics products. Most notably the leading IT and analyst firm predicts a transformation from BI systems used primarily for measurement and reporting to those that also support analysis, prediction, forecasting, and optimization.
In this year’s Magic Quadrant, TARGIT was evaluated on its Decision Suite 2013. The platform specializes in well-integrated capabilities that combine analytics, dashboards, reports, alerts, and mobile delivery. Decision Suite 2013 is designed to drive operational effectiveness through closed loop decision cycles aimed at accelerating time to results.
“User-friendly integration and our decision-centric approach in TARGIT Decision Suite is part of what we believe is our core strength,” says Morten Sandlykke, TARGIT CEO. “It permeates our entire organization and philosophy, which is why we are very excited to once again be recognized by Gartner.”
According to Gartner, BI will continue trending heavily towards vendors who provide governed data discovery capabilities.
“We have been adding to our self-service BI, analytics, and data discovery capabilities since 2012,” says Morten Middelfart, TARGIT CTO. “Our TARGIT Xbone has been helping users with no database knowledge analyze data that lives outside the data warehouse by simply dragging data into its in-memory column store architecture. This strengthens our position in the Analytics market. We agree with Gartner that this part of the market is on the move. That’s why we are looking forward to further strengthening our self-service capabilities—such as our speech recognition feature, offering the ability for the user to use natural language to search for existing BI content or to ask exploratory, ad-hoc questions interactively.”
