Hi all

Quick question about image/picture. Is it possible to have a in-deep-link to a picture/image to show in Targit - like a dimension? I'm not taking about the build in functionality about image and how to add this to an analysis.

Example:

Dimension [Car] - Dimension [CarPicture]

Opel - Picture Opel
Mercedes - Picture Mercedes

Best regards

Steffen

Hi Steffen

Unfortunately I don't see a solution to your question, at least not using the TARGIT client alone. I would recommend setting up a cube action for that type of scenario.
Hope it makes sense.

Hi again

After input from my colleagues a solution for your problem has come to my attention.
The method described below will give you a certain burden of maintenance whenever new pictures need to be added – so in some cases it may not be recommendable, but anyway here goes:

First I have a number of graphic files prepared – perhaps like this:

Then I go to the TARGIT Client – choose tools, gauge builder wizard, new gauge, icon. Now I click the dotted line in the bottom right corner to add my graphic files to this gauge:

After adding the 4 graphic files I click create:
UserPostedImage

Finally in the left hand side I click Enter Gauge Title and add a title (in this case Items):

Now I build a crosstab showing Revenue per Item and add a small calculation just to transfer the numbers to a new column called Pictures:
UserPostedImage

I start adding Color and Gaugeagents from the properties tab to monitor my Pictures column – the condition for the first agent might be:
UserPostedImage

The action is to display an icon in the cell and remember to set a checkmark in hide cell text:
UserPostedImage

On the third tab we choose the JEANS icon:

The rest is repetition – the result is here:

Note there is an “all” agent showing Picture Missing – I added this to suggest a way of making sure that new items would be showing some image.

Like I mentioned this is a little bit heavy to maintain...
Hope it makes sense.

Good once and well explained! Good Job Niels

We had the same need but in our case users wanted to play around the logo image, having the analysis logo next to title changing based on a criteria value... in that particular case their own division logo pic.

Instead of a static image we used a gauge with all different corporate logos.
