hi, is it possible to trigger from one analysis into another, where the second analysis has customised information?
For example, if you click on a particular customer name it will take you into an analysis which displays details for that particular customer, such as address or even contact photograph (in addition to the normal trigger filters).

I'm sure that I saw this on a targit demo video, but now that the website has changed I cannot find the video anymore, and was never able to work out how they did this.

Yes. Of course you will need to create the second analysis in such a way that it generally shows the information you want: address etc.

From the first analysis, where you have an object with customer names, you add a trigger to this object to point to the second analysis. Notice, when defining the trigger, you have an option to "include criteria when triggering". Make sure that you enable this option.

Now, when you click one of the customer names in the first analysis it will bring you to the second analysis with that customer being applied as a criterion. Notice that all other criteria from the first analysis (e.g. global criteria) will aslo be brought across to the second analysis.

hi Ole,

Thankyou for responding to my post. I can do this to a point but I'm still a little stuck.

For example: in my 1st analysis, I have a top 10 customer list. When I click on a customer, eg Style City, it triggers through to my 2nd analysis with just the relevant criteria for Style City (and any other selected criteria). Similarly, if I select Hip Closet on the 1st, it triggers through to my 2nd analysis with just Hip Closet data etc. I'm ok with this.

What I want to do is this: when I select on Style City on the 1st, it triggers through to the 2nd analysis which shows the relevant criteria AND shows the address for Style City (and an image of the the Style City contact). BUT if I select Hip Closet on the 1st analysis, it brings up the 2nd analysis with Hip Closet's address and image (ie different to the the Style City address/image).

So I suppose my question should have been: can I create an analysis (in this case the 2nd analysis) to show a different address and/or image depending on which customer/global criteria is selected.

thanks,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,

In the second analysis you will need a cross tab (or a simple table) with the necessary customer information from your customer dimension. Typically, in your Data Warehouse, you will have designed your customer dimension with all the necessary attributes, such as Address, Phone number, E-mail, etc.

The second analysis must be designed to show *all* customers by default – i.e. no default criteria. The criteria to limit this second analysis to just one customer will come from the trigger criteria anyway.

Finally, to add images to the second analysis, I recommend you have a look at a recorded Webinar that was done about a month ago. You can find it here: http://www.targit.com/en/Experience-TARGIT/Demo-Presentations/Events?GetAllWebinars=true#onDemand_Webinars. Look for the Webinar called “TARGIT Tips & Tricks Webinar - March 2013”.

Best regards,
Ole

hi Ole,

Thanks for the tips ... the webinar was very useful. I have now managed to get the customised images I wanted.
It was a bit fiddly to set up but looks great.

Cheers,
Stuart
