Hello
I have tried searching for this and the help documentation to no avail.

I have a cross tab that looks like this

Image A

I added the average calculation that shows in the bottom, however I want the average for each DimensionA member for each Quarter such that it will look like this.

Thanks!

Ahmad

Try this calculation in a custom calculation "as a new measure"...

UserPostedImage

Change the dynamic caption for the default Total, which is used to hold the average: "Edit dynamic captions for this members on this level". Delete {cellvalue} and type Average.
Also format the total/average as Column totals after members.
This way you get a new placeholder row per dimension A.
Lastly you can hide the original measure.

Hi Elin

Right click the crosstab and select Table -> Totals and subtotals ->
Column totals after members

NB The average (avg) part of the calculation is visible in the "Column total" row. In the screenshot the name of "Column total" row is Average and one of the average numbers is 72,744.81.
Best regards

Hi.

I have one more question regarding this topic.
The calculation works very well as long as I have only one hierarchy level.
As soon as I have two or more hierarchy levels the average is always calculated on next lowest level. I know, that this is exactly what the calculation says, but I would wish that it always calculated the average on the lowest level. Is that possible?

Hi Elin,

I am afraid you cannot do what you are asking for. I was hoping somebody else would come up with a brilliant idea I haven't thought of.

In the TARGIT calculation syntax, the parent/child relationship can only be identified between two "neighboring" levels, e.g. Level 1 and Level 2. You cannot skip a level e.g. to calculate how many "grandchildren" Level 1 would have on Level 3.

Hi Ole,

OK. Thank you. Then I have to find another solution.

Best regards
Elin
