I’ve made a cross tab consisting of firmname and id number in the rows. Data is number of people. The column is date (day) and a comparison which is 1 when the Id number is present on a given day else 0.

I have made some calculated columns (like dummy variables e.g. 1 if sum of people/sum of days is less than 0,25 else 0)

Now – I would like to sum these “dummies” for all ID numbers in each firmname.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to post a copy of the table – I have tried to make an example in excel instead.

I would like to show the sum of under 25 for each firmname and the sum of 25-50 pct. for each firmname

I have tried to hide some rows and tried different formulas which may calculate these subsums.

Any suggestion for a solution is very much appreciated.

Hi Lars,

The calculations you made so far are ok, but you need to add two additional calculated columns to complete your task.

I am assuming that your current calculations "under 25 pct" and "25-50 pct" can be referred to as "c1" and "c2" respectively.

Now, add another two calculated columns:

- sum(c1, all(c), 0)
- sum(c2, all(c), 0)

These two new calculated columns should show the correct values on the subtotal level.

Go to Properties / Visibility settings to hide values on the ID level.

Best regards,

Hi Ole,

Thank you so much. Do you know if it's possible to show the subtotals in a diagram - just nice to:-)
