Is it possible to create a copy of a cube in Data Modeler?
There is no "Save as" or "Copy" function as far I have seen.
The reason is I now got a working cube which was quite time consuming to set up, and now I want to further develop it without tampering with the working cube.

You Can reuse the data source' in the new cube. You Can also choose a sub set of a existing data source in the new cube. It's quite easy using the gui. |

Reusing the data sources I'm aware of, but then I have to start all over again with setting up the relations and attributes. If I could copy/paste the whole cube I could use one of them as a development cube. What is the intended use of a Sub Cube?

The subcubes functionality is for those cases where you need to produce a product of two tables, e.g. if you have a number of retail stores and want to be able to filter by store and still see how they weather were for that particular store.
You can also utilize it to reduce complexity of your cube, e.g. if you need to join a product dimension with a detail table and you don't want to create a gigantic star schema but still keep the data model simple.
