I have three dimensions, denoted as place, address (at the given place) and individuals (at the given address for the given place), and a time hierarchy in a cross-table. To calculate the number of addresses, I have used an if statement (if sum(0, 0(l(1,1,0)), m2) = 2 then 0,5 * sum(0, 0, m2) else sum(0, 0, m2)), such that each subtotal for an address equals one, regardsless of the number of individuals living there.

The problem is then given, when summing over this column (sum(0, all, m8)). Each cell is given the same value, including the subtotals. I want it to provide me with the subtotals for each place, given the addresses within this dimension.

Hence I need some advice, when summing for dimensions, i.e to obtain the subtotal for each place.

Hi Alexander,

Not exactly easy to imagine what you really want to achieve without a screenshot. Are all dimensions on the same axis? Are calculations inserted as new measures, as columns, as rows?.

However, maybe you just need include hierarchy modifiers in your calculation:

- Count children: sum(0, all(c), m8)
- Count siblings: sum(0, all(s), m8)

Best regards / Ole
