I have a crosstab with columns for months. Some rows have 0 for all months, I'd like to hide them.

To do this:
  1. 1. I create a new column: the sum of all columns
  2. 2. Create visibility agent: If the newly created column is zero, hide member

The problem is, if i calculate the 'sum of all columns'-column as sum(all(v), 0,0,0) I cannot use the calculation in the visibility agent. It does work when I use sum(all, 0,0,0).

So it doesn't block me, but I don't understand why sum(all(v), 0,0,0) is not available in the visibility agent.

Can someone help me understand?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jacob,

TARGIT is a bit strict when it comes to working with visibility agents together with calculations with visibility modifiers (v).

The reason is that, potentially, you could have a calculation that would affect how many rows/columns would be hidden by a visibility agent, which in turn would affect the result of the calculation, which again would affect the visibility agent ... etc.

To prevent such 'invalid circular references', TARGIT plays it safe by blocking all combinations of calculations with visibility modifiers (v) and visibility agents.
