Automobile Club du Grand Duché de Luxembourg (ACL) is a non-governmental and social profit service organization for car, truck, and motorcycle drivers. More than 170,000 Belgians enjoy the benefits of membership that include roadside assistance, discount travel, professional automotive expertise, and more.
ACL needed a way to consolidate and gain wisdom from their over 750,000 service claims. The lead-time for answers within the database was long and tedious, causing bottlenecks in all departments.
Unsure of where to start with business intelligence, ACL turned to a Microsoft expert, who led them to TARGIT. One demo of the TARGIT Decision Suite and they were hooked.
The first step of the company's TARGIT integration was to build a data warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server to pull data from their various applications. They also built several SQL Server Analysis Service OLAP cubes to accurately monitor every company activity: cash register, service entry details, call center activities, financial data, membership data, and more.
TARGIT's fast and easy implementation, seamless integration with Microsoft SQL Server, and user-friendly front end led to an almost immediate ROI for ACL. Today, TARGIT is used by top management to keep track of all functional domains with ACL, serving as an integral basis for weekly management meetings. Reports and analyses are delivered automatically with the information managers need. That means time-consuming manual queries are now a thing of the past.
TARGIT also delivers actionable insight from the company's CRM system and several customized IT systems, including the custom-built Apollo accounting system. With information at their fingertips, ACL employees say it is easy to monitor activities of both the commercial and social profit branches of the company.
As ACL expands in scope and membership, there's no worry about outgrowing their TARGIT Decision Suite solution.
"Not only is TARGIT very easy to use for the end users, it is also quite easy for the IT department to add further analytical functionality and grow the business intelligence system according to the changing needs of the organization," says André Streitz, Business Analyst at ACL.
Pleased with the success managers have found with TARGIT, ACL now plans to expand access to operational users and the ACL call center. The company also has plans to use TARGIT reports and analyses to measure the performance of new activities, such as the Clubcar car rental activity. ACL recently purchased a fleet of vehicles to be used for a car rental service for its members, and will use TARGIT to deliver data on car usage throughout the year to determine the profitability in purchasing more cars for rental or working with a subcontractor instead.
Overall, ACL could not be happier with the expanded insight TARGIT delivers.
"It would be virtually impossible to maintain an overview of the strategic parameters, nor would it be possible for end-users to generate meaningful analyses or reports without the TARGIT Business Intelligence system," says Giovanni de Felice, Marketing & Project Manager at ACL.
