Then it is not a measure. :-) Measures must be based on numerical data types. You should probably create it as a dimension instead. The "Table" object type, as opposed to the "cross table" object type, in the TARGIT client allows you to display data without including a measure..

Ok. It is a part of a survey. This section of the text contains socalled "fritekst" where people can write their own thoughts whereas the rest of the survey is mutiple choice. You still believe this is the correct way. It needs to be linked with the additional Q.

Hi Mads
The multiple choice part of the answers could be represented by count measures. One way to reflect a survey in a dimensional model could be to make a number of dimensions and measures:
Dim_Q1 Dim_Answer1 Measure_Answer1
Dim_Q2 Dim_Answer2 Measure_Answer2
The measures would be count-measures counting the spread of the corresponding Dim_Answer. This would enable you to build objects in TARGIT - one per Q&A - and use the drilldown feature in TARGIT to investigate in depth the obtained survey material.
The freetext answers should be dimensions - such as Dim_FreeAnswer - and would in TARGIT only be meaningful in tables with no measures assigned.
Hope it makes sense. |
