Dear User/Reader,
I have a question about comparing reports with each other. is it possible to compare data from 2 reports with each other, to make another report about the data.
Case: We have a weekly report wich states the open invoices in a certain period. We want to compare the weekly report, with the report from the previous week. Because the data changes, when invoices are paid, we can't make a comparison in one report, because the data is variable.
so we need something like a snapshot of the data, wich we can compare with the previous week.
Thanks for helping us out!

Hello,
You cannot compare two reports, since in TARGIT the "old" data do not persist, so there is no way to access these. An automatic mechanism that keeps a snapshot of the data is Notification Agents, which compares the current status with the previous status (on the date the agent was last evaluated based on the schedule). You may use this handy feature to place warnings based on the change from the previous run (last week) to this run (this week).
If you want to be able to dynamically evaluate changes in open invoices then you need to set up the report using actual moves (initial invoice and payments for this invoice on different lines) so when you do a comparison you will get the sum of invoiced values and payments for any period. This will allow you to report the open invoices of any period and also calculate average payment times and open invoices by period.
If you require further information on this, please feel free to contact me.

Hi Aristides,
This sounds very interesting. I think I could use it for Stock age @ date development over time.
Best regards,
Lenka
