TARGIT Visualization Competition

Sign up to show your skills and win exciting prizes!

Approximately 14 days before the contest begins:

  • We will give you access to a TARGIT solution with your folder for saving.
  • We will give you access to a database showing all participants in the Winter and Summer Olympics from 1896-2016.
  • There will also be a large repository of graphics that can be used to enrich the dashboards.

The task:

  • Now you need to build one or more dashboards that visualize the data in the best possible way.
  • The audience for your dashboard will be the public in general or anyone interested in Olympics history.
  • This means it needs to be simple to use your dashboard.

The dashboard(s) should at least answer the following questions:

  • Which country has been most successful in Olympics history? What is the average age of male and female athletes?
  • Which discipline has had the most athletes competing through time?
  • Which Winter- and Summer Olympics had the most athletes?
  • Has the gender split changed in the history of the Olympics?
  • Which disciplines are “extinct” and which country top the extinct disciplines?

The information and access will be available approximately 14 days before the contest begins.

On the day, we will go through the submitted dashboards and pick a winner.

After picking the winner, we will show some visualization tips and do a Q&A on Visualizations in TARGIT.
